Baratza is always making small changes to our grinders to improve performance, durability, or reliability. These changes are part of our commitment to continuously look for ways to improve our grinders and are not usually announced publically. But sometimes customers notice a change and have questions.
In the Fall of 2013, Baratza made a small running improvement to the Encore grinder. We added a small wing nut on the top of the cone burr. The purpose of this improvement is to cure the occasional problem with large beans not dropping into the burrs. While this problem only affected about 2% of our Encore users, we felt the change was a good thing. This feeding problem is not present on any of our other grinders.
